Notes
While trying to stop a modern day disaster, which will kill hundreds of Chicago residents, Gary's knocked unconscious and travels back to 1871, just days before Chicago's great fire. There he meets a girl that bears a striking resemblance to Marissa and realizes that despite needing to get back to 1998, Gary's got to help her and her brother escape from a crooked bar owner. Ultimately, Gary's actions have an effect on the present day disaster, and Gary meets Rod Sterling in McGinty's bar. For this episode, the producers made an entire set of a dirt road in Chicago from the 1870's, including horses! Also, this is CBS's 50th anniversary episode of Early Edition. Rod Sterling of " The Twilight Zone" fame is put into this episode using computer technology.

I recall when CBS was asking producers of all their current shows to do something special to note their 50th Anniversary. The clever insertion of Rod Sterling at the end was pretty cool.
